The New York Times bestselling Kate Daniels novels have been hailed as “top-notch urban fantasy” (Monsters and Critics). Now, Ilona Andrews delves deeper into Kate’s world, and reveals its untold stories…
After being kicked out of the Order of the Knights of Merciful Aid, Andrea’s whole existence is in shambles. She tries to put herself back together by working for Cutting Edge, a small investigative firm owned by her best friend. When several shapeshifters working for Raphael Medrano—the male alpha of the Clan Bouda, and Andrea’s former lover—die unexpectedly at a dig site, Andrea is assigned to investigate. Now she must work with Raphael as her search for the killer leads into the secret underbelly of supernatural Atlanta. And dealing with her feelings for him might have to take a back seat to saving the world…

Includes a free bonus: a Kate Daniels novella, "Magic Gifts"

Gunmetal Magic is the next installment of the Kate Daniels series and is from Andrea’s POV.  This is untypical of this series as all previous books have been from Kate’s POV.

It took me a little while to hear Andrea’s voice and not Kate’s.  This is a favorite series of mine and Kate has always been such an unforgettable character.  Yet, Andrea did find her own voice and rhythm.  Once the gears were switched I loved the amazing story that unfolded.  Andrea has such history and it was nice to have so much depth added to a secondary character.  Her history with Raphael, as well as the resolve, was a beautiful story.

Andrea’s story was much more powerful and deep than I imagined.  I enjoyed the way the authors unraveled the pain of Andrea’s past – you truly gained so much insight into her character and decisions she made in the past.

The full world dynamic in all of the Kate Daniels series is truly a work of art in its self.

Gunmetal Magic also included a free novella, Magic Gifts.  I jumped right into it!  It was an amazing addition to the Kate Daniels series!

I rate Gunmetal Magic 4 out of 5 Bullets!
