FBI agent Lily Yu’s mind is a dangerous place to be in the latest Novel of the Lupi…

Thanks to the mindspeech lessons she’s receiving from the black dragon, Lily is temporarily benched from Unit Twelve—until her brain acclimates and the risk of total burnout passes. At least she has her new husband, lupi Rule Turner, to keep her occupied.

But when her mentor calls in a favor and sends Lily to a murder scene, she’s suddenly back on active status—despite the hallucinations she can’t keep at bay.  With one touch, Lily knows the man was killed by magic, but her senses don’t warn her how far the conspiracy goes…

A shadowy force within the government wants to take Unit Twelve down, and they don't mind killing to achieve their goal. With none of her usual resources, Lily is up against impossible odds--because with her mind in disarray, she can’t trust anything she sees. From the Paperback edition.
Review

Mind Magic by Eileen Wilks is the 12th book in her World of the Lupi series. Lily and Rule face an unknown foe and we learn more about the dragons…so awesomeness all around!

Wilks never seems to disappoint. With her strong world building abilities, I am one second from away from being convinced she is some kind of wizard world building genius. Creating vivid images and unique challenges for her characters after the twelfth book in a series is a hard thing to do. Pointing out things that should have been obvious, yet never occurred to me, makes me giddy and pulls me that much deeper into the story.

Brownies. Dragons multiplying. Evil assholes. YEP. Mind Magic takes up another step past just the world of the Lupi. As Lily is in training to mindspeak she losing a slight grip on reality and of course the shit hits the fan at the least opportune time. Lily and Rule each deal with individual conflicts and struggles, creating a nice feel to this addition. With her normal support under attack, Lily and Rule must fight their own battles and try to save those they care about.

Mind Magic did not disappoint and I easily become critical of series that have this many books in them. If you have not read this series, it is a MUST read for lovers of Urban Fantasy. I would caution about trying to start this series on this book. This series is one continuation and every book provides a look out of another window and into this world. Trying to peek out of one without knowing what has previously been revealed, will likely be information overload.

I rate Mind Magic by Eileen Wilks 4.5 out of 5 Bullets!

I received this book directly from the publisher. I also purchased the paperback later for my collection of this series. All opinions are my own and are not influenced in any way.
