OH THE PSYCHOLOGICAL HORROR. YEESSSSSSS!!!
Seriously, this is one that snakes into your mind and settles in deep. Simone brilliantly keeps you on the edge and questioning whose reality is true. Whose reality is right? It was a brilliant mind fuck and I enjoyed it.
Astrid Mueller has a cult like following with a bizarre history and maybe the strangest self-help book in the history of fiction and real life. As Chloe begins to investigate Astrid, she is quickly forced to reevaluate her own reality.
With diverse characters and dialog that was always on point and every word carried the story forward, Clean Room is immensely entertaining.
The brutally beautiful and graphic images only aided the story, making Clean Room a completely enjoyable horror comic. I loved the bizarre grotesqueness of some of scenes. I am sure no one should analyze too closely that I was often simultaneously laughing and cringing during certain portrayals of events.
I cannot wait to start Volume 2 and have only been holding off to write this review. Volume 2 is my reward.
