Audiobook Review: The Snow Queen by Michael Cunningham

Audiobook Review: The Snow Queen by Michael Cunningham

I found the The Snow Queen a precariously balanced novel that shows a short glimpse into the lives of two brothers Barret and Tyler. We first meet Barret as he walks along the park at night and sees a vision of light that could be almost be compared to a spiritual experience or possibly an awaking within. He holds this nugget to himself and withholds it from his brother Tyler. Later this almost seems to be the wedge what pushes the two from one to two separate paths later in life. I sometimes found Barret’s thoughts convoluted to the… Read more »

In this YA book Freak of Nature by Julia Crane we meet Kaitlyn, a teenager with a few modifications. Book Review: Silence of the Wolf by Terry Spear

Book Review: Silence of the Wolf by Terry Spear

Silence of the Wolf is Terry Spear‘s 13th installment in her Heart of the Wolf series.  Don’t let this discourage you if you are thinking about picking up this book.  It can be read as a stand alone – Spears is truly a master at weaving each book into its own story while adding something to the overall series. Silence of the Wolf focuses on Tom Silver and Elizabeth.  These two very different personalities did come together with a sweet flare.  Elizabeth has been traumatized and bullied for being different by her previous pack.  She honestly doesn’t know how to… Read more »

Book Review: Turned (The Belladonna Agency #1) by Virna DePaul

Book Review: Turned (The Belladonna Agency #1) by Virna DePaul

Turned by Virna DePaul is hard for me to review. Don’t get me wrong I really liked the characters and I can see this is the first book in the Belladonna Agency Series and background is always a must. Also the scenes between Ty and Ana will surly steam your windows up!  There is just some small part of me that felt the plot got a little soft at the end.  Then again I felt this was more about Ty and Ana. Ty is a fairly new turned vampire and still learning how to control himself on his own. With… Read more »

Novella Review: Dragon Mine by Jaime Rush

Novella Review: Dragon Mine by Jaime Rush

Dragon Mine by Jaime Rush is a novella focusing on a dragon shifter and a duece (think witch).  I like the characters and the world building in this story.  I know it was a novella, but I still feel it needed more and hope to get just that when I start Dragon Rising. Kirin was alpha, but the nice kind.   He was not afraid to be clear about his love and desire for Elle.  Elle and Kirin’s history and past relationship was well described and clearly laid out.   The mystery was not quite resolved and left open, but… Read more »

Book Review: One Lucky Vampire: An Argeneau Novel by Lynsay Sands

Book Review: One Lucky Vampire: An Argeneau Novel by Lynsay Sands

One Lucky Vampire by Lynsay Sands is an Argeneau Novel series read.  I admit that I totally love this series and have read every book in every series in order.  I believe this is the first book by Sands that I would not recommend reading without reading previous books in this series first.   Many characters from previous books popped in and out and even I felt a little confused at times.  I think if I would not have had knowledge of these characters I would have been completely overwhelmed. The mystery aspect in One Lucky Vampire is one I… Read more »
