Book Review: Dragon Fall by Katie MacAlister

Book Review: Dragon Fall by Katie MacAlister

Dragon Fall is Katie MacAlister’s first book in her Black Dragons series. Once I picked Dragon Fall up, I could not put it down. My nose stayed in the book and everything else just had to wait! Taking place in the same world as the Aisling Grey and other Dragons series I enjoyed the tie-ins to the other series, even though I am severely behind on the other series. Some of my favorite and unforgettable characters were still part… Read more »

Book Review: Wraithborne by A.D. Roland

Book Review: Wraithborne by A.D. Roland

Wraithborne by A.D. Roland is a creep and entertaining read from beginning to end and a refreshing change to my normal reading line-up. Wraithborne was more than just a great surprise, it fulfilled my mood for something creepy and delivered more than I was expecting! My subconscious was filled to the brim with crazy and it ran with it! Just what I want from a horror, something that digs in and takes hold. Vada is an artist married to a police officer and they have a… Read more »

Book Review: Tempted by Fire by Erin Kellison

Book Review: Tempted by Fire by Erin Kellison

Tempted by Fire is Erin Kellison’s first book in her Dragons of Bloodfire series. Kellison brilliantly lined the pages with deep character and world building, creating a page turner until the end. My least favorite thing about this book was the length. I wanted more! Even with the lean number of pages, Kellison manages to pack a surprising amount of back story for several of the characters onto the pages. Their backstories really made the characters into people you wanted… Read more »

Audiobook Review – Discount Armageddon by Seanan McGuire

Audiobook Review – Discount Armageddon by Seanan McGuire

Discount Armageddon is the first book in Seanan McGuire’s InCryptid series. With a lot of worldbuilding and characters lining the pages this book was a “down the middle” for me. I had been eyeballing this book for quite some time. Honestly, the cover itself invoked the same kind of mixed reaction that reading the book invoked. Kind of a mixture of WOW and SAY WHAT? Verity was a great strong female lead, but I felt the focus on her… Read more »

Audiobook Review: The Engineer Wizard by Glenn Michaels

Audiobook Review: The Engineer Wizard by Glenn Michaels

The Engineer Wizard by Glenn Michaels is the first book in The Genie and the Wizard series.  This is a DNF review. After a very strenuous attempt to listen and make it though, I got to about the 1/2 way mark before deciding I just needed to move on. It has been a very long time since I have posted a DNF review. Making it just short of the half-way mark before throwing the towel in is a big deal… Read more »

Book Review: Siren’s Call by Jayne Castle

Book Review: Siren’s Call by Jayne Castle

Siren’s Call is Jayne Castle‘s fourth book in her Rainshadow series. Set in a fascinating world, Siren’s Call pulled me in and didn’t let me go! Siren’s Call is actually the first book I have read by this author and I was more than pleasantly surprised. Set in a unique world where aliens are no longer present, but their mark remains sets an intriguing setting for this story. With fascinating imagery being alluring in its own right, it is not… Read more »
