Book Review: Snow Wolf by Heather Long

Book Review: Snow Wolf by Heather Long

Snow Wolf by Heather Long is the ninth book in her Wolves of Willow Bend Series. This series is truly captivating with an incredible story-line and compelling characters. I was a little worried about Snow Wolf in the beginning. The Alpha of the Yukon pack and oldest Alpha around, Diesel, intimidated me a bit from the glimpses we were given of him in prior books. My concern laid in the feeling that he was going to be too dark, isolated and raw for me to have respect for this character. I could not have been more wrong. Peeling back the layers of… Read more »

Book Review Bearskin from Wickedly Twisted: Fairy Tales for Adults

Book Review Bearskin from Wickedly Twisted: Fairy Tales for Adults

This review is for Bearskin by A.D. Roland. (One of the 5 stories in this anthology). Pan’s Curse is a sweet and unique paranormal romance story. It truly had a fairy tale feel to it and was reminiscent of the Beauty and the Beast, sans the kidnapping bit, and the Princess and the Frog. The Devil’s deal is never what one anticipates, right? I enjoyed the darkness of the main character, Valdus. I know that sounds odd, but I did. The light and dark mixture of the two main characters created a great contrast to the story. Enough backstory was provided about each… Read more »

Book Review: Redeemed by Rilic by Mychal Daniels

Book Review: Redeemed by Rilic by Mychal Daniels

Redeemed by Rilic is the fourth book in Mychal Daniel’s Olodian Alien Warrior series. Redeemed by Rilic is full of greatness with a brilliant story-line and come-off-the-page real characters! It is no secret that I LOVE sci-fi romance, but lately I feel like every book I pick up is sci-fi romance is pretty light on the actual story-line and overly focused on the sex. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy some heat in my sci-fi, but I need a STORY. I need real characters! Redeemed by Rilic did just that. It didn’t stop at SEXY. It delve into a new world and conflicts… Read more »

Book Review: A Pirate’s Curse by ML Guida

Book Review: A Pirate’s Curse by ML Guida

A Pirate’s Curse is the first book in M.L. Guida’s Legends of the Soaring Phoenix series. This is a very difficult review for me to write for two reasons. The first reason is simple, parts of A Pirate’s Curse were awesome and I loved it. Second, the protagonist was confusing and my dislike for just about every aspect of her character was a challenge for me. A challenge I was unable to overcome. I am going to unleash the conversation about what was great, I am starting with the positives! Pirates. Vampires. An intriguing backstory regarding a demon with a conscience was… Read more »

Review of Broken Pieces

Review of Broken Pieces

Loved this book. It is the 4th book in the series and while it can be read as a stand alone, it is so much better when read in order. This is one of books that once you really get absorbed in it, keeps you guessing as to what is going to happen. It is not predictable but it does end with a HEA. Ally has a one night stand, no names, no commitment, just a sexual encounter….one without a condom. After numerous home pregnancy test with the same result, pregnant, Ally must change her ways. Coming from a single… Read more »

Book Review: Aconite by Christine Alvarez

Book Review: Aconite by Christine Alvarez

Aconite by Christine Alvarez is the first book in her Elektita series. This captivating story unfolds in a unique way, with bread crumbs of information leading you down a trail of excitement to discover truths about Alexis’ past. Aconite’s story line is done in a very different style, one that I had no problem consuming.  Aconite’s flow very much followed the feel of a paranormal mystery, although it certainly held some romantic elements. We are pulled down the rabbit hole with Alexis as she becomes aware of (…. um…ok how to explain this without a spoiler…) a past she didn’t… Read more »
