Giveaway & Spotlight: Born in Blood by Alexandra Ivy

Welcome to Booked & Loaded’s stop on Alexandra Ivy’s Born in Blood tour!  You can read my review HERE! PART 4 A SENTINEL LOVE STORY By Alexandra Ivy Part Four She hunched a shoulder, deeply regretting her brown hair that was pulled in a ponytail and the predictable dark eyes that came with her Italian heritage.   She wasn’t ugly.  She was…plain.  Ordinary.  Just once she wished she could be the sort of woman that made a man like Anton look at her as if she were more than an unwelcome intruder. “Only a place that has something to hide goes… Read more »

Book Review: Born in Blood (The Sentinels #1) by Alexandra Ivy

Book Review: Born in Blood (The Sentinels #1) by Alexandra Ivy

Born in Blood by Alexandra Ivy is the first installment in her new series, The Sentinels.  In this new darker world the characters felt more extreme and the world building more complex, it was a great surprise! Duncan and Callie have chemistry right from the first scene and I enjoyed the less traditional type of Alpha characters. A divorced sergeant, Duncan knew what he wanted and didn’t let up.  His personality was rough and in your face, I liked him . 😉  This clash of personalities took place in a very unique world with a bit of a sci-fi feel… Read more »

Book Review: Tempt the Stars by Karen Chance

Book Review: Tempt the Stars by Karen Chance

Tempt the Stars by Karen Chance was an interesting read. It is a story of Cassie Palmer, the Pythia or chief seer and her quest to help Pritkin escape his captivity. I had some real issues with following some of the events and the lack of direction.  I felt there was lots of action but it lacked in information or story that would make the book progress smoothly.  I also felt that Cassie could have been a stronger character. I understand she is still learning and this is done by trial and error but sometimes you have to stand alone… Read more »

Novella Review: How Zombies Stole Christmas by Sidney Bristol

How Zombies Stole Christmas is a long novella by Sidney Bristol.  I have to admit that although I love Christmas as a tradition, I am normally not drawn to the Christmas themed stories.  However, how could I resist a title like How Zombies Stole Christmas? How Zombies Stole Christmas is an unexpected and amazing story!  Leave all your expectations of zombies and Santa Clause at the door please!  This world takes place on the Russian boarder where the Fae have created a safe haven for their kind and the like.  Evelina is Jack Frost’s daughter.  She is now the guardian… Read more »
