Audio Book Review: Hunted (Iron Druid Chronicles #6) by Kevin Hearne

Audio Book Review: Hunted (Iron Druid Chronicles #6) by Kevin Hearne

I have to admit that after the last book I debated if I should continue the series or not.  I had some complaints about how one of my favorite characters, Atticus, was lacking in character development and although the stories are great…I wanted more!  Well, bitches, I got it in Hunted!  To me character development is critical in a series. Hearne wraps up a lot of loose ends in Hunted.  With high action and the array of characters I have come to expect, I was entertained and captivated.  Taking it a step further Hearne still leaves the ending open for… Read more »

ARC Book Review: Dirty Magic (Prospero’s War #1) by Jaye Wells

ARC Book Review: Dirty Magic (Prospero’s War #1) by Jaye Wells

Dirty Magic is the first book in Jaye Wells’ newest series – Prospero’s War. I read this book with little knowledge of what to expect.  I guess I expected Magic and a new world and what I got was so much more.  I didn’t just love the story.  I fell in love with every character the pages contained. Wells kicks off her new series with precision and clarity.  Kate Prospero is an incredible complex and well defined character.  After breaking ties with her family she is now raising her little brother alone.  Joining the police force to try and be… Read more »

ARC Book Review: Cold Blooded (Jessica McClain #3) by Amanda Carlson

ARC Book Review: Cold Blooded (Jessica McClain #3) by Amanda Carlson

Cold Blooded is the third book in Amanda Carlson’s Jessica McClain series.  Jessica is always in trouble.  She is a magnet for it.  Every freaking supernatural in the world is after her ass and she is accidentally building a freak team of supe’s …so to sum it up – Awesome!  Cold Blooded is jammed packed of non-stop action.  So much action actually I started to feel a little overwhelmed by it.  Very few books I would ever say have “too much kick assing”, but Cold Blooded is nothing but action.  Let’s face it – Amanda Carlson is torturing my favorite… Read more »

Book Review: Dancing With the Devil (Nikki & Michael #1) by Keri Arthur

Book Review: Dancing With the Devil (Nikki & Michael #1) by Keri Arthur

Nikki, a psychic with many abilities, is a hard knock detective. Michael a vampire hit man. Together they find they must work together to overcome a rogue vampire with intricate plans involving the possession of Nikki and destroying  Michael. This is a great read with well developed characters.  I could really feel Nikki’s pain each time she would overuse her abilities and her inner strength that kept her moving forward.  Her wayward youth that turned her into a wary adult is wonderfully told as the book proceeds and you learn where that inner strength was born. Michael, a centuries old… Read more »
