Book Review: Ajax’s Harpy Holiday by Mychal Daniels

Book Review: Ajax’s Harpy Holiday by Mychal Daniels

Ajax’s Harpy Holiday is the first book in Mychal Daniels Dragofin Clan Mated series. Ajax’s Harpy Holiday is a fun, original and entertaining read. Don’t pass this book up just because of the Holiday theme. I would have enjoyed this book any ‘ole time of the year, especially since I am sure a lot of us can relate to the holiday struggle of being alone, or lonely, at any point in time. Ajax’s Harpy Holiday falls on the sci-fi or fantasy side of dragons and gryphons, and although one would expect a funny and quick read, it truly was deeper… Read more »

Review of Broken Pieces

Review of Broken Pieces

Loved this book. It is the 4th book in the series and while it can be read as a stand alone, it is so much better when read in order. This is one of books that once you really get absorbed in it, keeps you guessing as to what is going to happen. It is not predictable but it does end with a HEA. Ally has a one night stand, no names, no commitment, just a sexual encounter….one without a condom. After numerous home pregnancy test with the same result, pregnant, Ally must change her ways. Coming from a single… Read more »

Review of Desired by the Bear

Review of Desired by the Bear

My favorite yet by V. Vaughn! This is a great start to the series and it can be read without reading Called by the Bear and Tempted by the Bear, but I think would be more enjoyable if did read those first. This one is bit different in that you are following four women from the very beginning. Even though we see a twist at the end, most of this one is setting up for the rest of the series and it completely hooked me. It is a longer book, but to me it went by just as fast as… Read more »

Book Review: Aconite by Christine Alvarez

Book Review: Aconite by Christine Alvarez

Aconite by Christine Alvarez is the first book in her Elektita series. This captivating story unfolds in a unique way, with bread crumbs of information leading you down a trail of excitement to discover truths about Alexis’ past. Aconite’s story line is done in a very different style, one that I had no problem consuming.  Aconite’s flow very much followed the feel of a paranormal mystery, although it certainly held some romantic elements. We are pulled down the rabbit hole with Alexis as she becomes aware of (…. um…ok how to explain this without a spoiler…) a past she didn’t… Read more »

Horror Book Review: Congenital Defects by A.D. Roland

Horror Book Review: Congenital Defects by A.D. Roland

Congenital Defects by A.D. Roland is a full out horror that brings you in, traumatizes you and then haunts not only your nightmares but your day dreams as well. In other words…it does everything a horror book should do. Congenital Defects is NOT for the faint at heart. If you are the type of reader that searches blurbs and book information for trigger warnings, then this book is probably one you want to pass up. It pushes boundaries and social stigmas right off a fucking cliff, especially if you are the estrogen filled variety of human. A.D. Roland… Read more »

Book Review of Deathly Magic by A.L. Kessler

Book Review of Deathly Magic by A.L. Kessler

Deathly Magic by A.L. Kessler is the second book in her Here Witchy Witchy series. This urban fantasy was a joy to read and only left me jonesing for more. Deathly Magic is a quick paced Urban Fantasy. The character growth and back-story that is bursting forth with awesomeness, has left me with a yearning for MORE Abigail. I always expect these two things from any Urban Fantasy and I am so pleased that this series is accomplishing both. I am undecided about Abby’s new partner Nick. I still don’t like him but I think my feelings pretty much run parallel… Read more »
