Comic Book Review: CHEW (Vol 1 & 2)

Comic Book Review: CHEW (Vol 1 & 2)

Volume 1: Taster’s Choice Tony Chu is a detective with a secret. A weird secret. Tony Chu is Cibopathic, which means he gets psychic impressions from whatever he eats. It also means he’s a hell of a detective, as long as he doesn’t mind nibbling on the corpse of a murder victim to figure out whodunit, and why. He’s been brought on by the Special Crimes Division of the FDA, the most powerful law enforcement agency on the planet, to investigate… Read more »

Spotlight: The Liberal Redneck Manifesto: Draggin’ Dixie Outta the Dark

Look at me, procrastinating writing book reviews! Weeeeee….  Ok, seriously though. Some of you that have been following for a while might have picked up on my quirky views. I mean #authorwtf posts were popping up here and there about political views of authors and just strange shit they choose to align themselves with. One thing remains constant with me, human rights. Book Review: Sweep in Peace by Ilona Andrews

Book Review: Sweep in Peace by Ilona Andrews

Sweep in Peace by Ilona Andrews is the second book in their Innkeeper Chronicles series. (Ilona Andrews is a pseudonym for this husband-wife team) The Innkeeper Chronicles easily falls into more of a Science Fiction hole than Urban Fantasy and I like it! Although the science fiction is not an overbearing part of the story, they are very much dealing with alien beings vs supernatural ones. Dina DeMille is still the InnKeeper at her Bed and Breakfast in Texas… Read more »

Book Review: Wicked Ever After by Delilah S. Dawson

Book Review: Wicked Ever After by Delilah S. Dawson

Wicked Ever After is the fourth book in Delilah S. Dawson’s Blud series. This steampunk paranormal mix-up is set in a beautifully dark and unique world, but this installment left me a bit uneasy. Dawson did something that is not regularly done in paranormal romance. Wicked Ever After tied up not only the HEA, but their future was laid out as well. I cannot say TOO much about that without revealing spoilers galore. Dawson touched on Tish’s inability to reproduce in… Read more »

Book Review: Craved by an Alpha by Felicity Heaton

Book Review: Craved by an Alpha by Felicity Heaton

Craved by an Alpha is Felicity Heaton‘s fifth book in her Eternal Mates series.  The focus in Craved by an Alpha is on Cavanaugh, whom we have met briefly, in a few of the other titles. This is probably one of the hardest reviews I have done in quite some time.  I am absolutely in love with the world building in the Eternal Mates series, as well as the characters.  Craved by an Alpha just didn’t hold up.  The lack… Read more »
