Book Review of Thunder Wolf by Heather Long

Book Review of Thunder Wolf by Heather Long

Thunder Wolf is the 11th book in Heather Long’s Wolves of Willow Bend series. It is no secret that I am a complete fan of this series, but I think Thunder Wolf fell a little short. Still an enjoyable read and I really enjoyed the progress of the ongoing story arc. There is some great action, a few mysteries solved and a relationship bloomed. I should have loved this installment and cannot quite put my finger on why I didn’t. Maybe my love for some of the prior books upped the bar and now everything else is held a higher standard…. Book Review: Redeemed by Rilic by Mychal Daniels

Book Review: Redeemed by Rilic by Mychal Daniels

Redeemed by Rilic is the fourth book in Mychal Daniel’s Olodian Alien Warrior series. Redeemed by Rilic is full of greatness with a brilliant story-line and come-off-the-page real characters! It is no secret that I LOVE sci-fi romance, but lately I feel like every book I pick up is sci-fi romance is pretty light on the actual story-line and overly focused on the sex. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy some heat in my sci-fi, but I need a STORY. I need real characters! Redeemed by Rilic did just that. It didn’t stop at SEXY. It delve into a new world and conflicts… Read more »

Book Review: Fire Touched (Mercy Thompson #9) by Patricia Briggs

Book Review: Fire Touched (Mercy Thompson #9) by Patricia Briggs

Fire Touched is the 9th book in Patricia Briggs’ Mercy Thompson Series. I have been a long time reader of this series and Mercy is a character that always seems to come alive. Fire Touched was much more action filled than many of the previous books in the Mercy Thompson series and moved at a quick and steady pace, but I just kept thinking WTF? Fire Touched just did not seem to keep true to who I always felt Mercy was and IS. Character growth in Urban Fantasy is something that this genre does phenomenally well and yet I just… Read more »

Book Review: A Beeline to Murder by Meera Lester

Book Review: A Beeline to Murder by Meera Lester

A Beeline to Murder by Meera Lester is the first book in her Henny Penny Farmette Mystery series. With legions of inconsistencies this book ended up being a clear DNF for me. In full disclosure about my DNF policy and reviews I want to start off by saying that I did read more than 50% of this book. I persevered through with brute force, but after hitting the over 50% mark I decided life was just too short to finish this book. Honestly, one of the reasons I picked up this book was the beekeeping aspect. This is close to… Read more »

Book Review: Primal by Sasha White

Book Review: Primal by Sasha White

Primal is packed full of raw Alpha male and Sasha White delivers a full out erotic romance with a great story line in this first Overwatch series title. As you probably have noticed, I don’t read a ton of books outside the realm of paranormal, but have been venturing out a little more in the last year or so.  Primal is a book I would not have previously read based on the sole fact that it didn’t fit into my comfort zone, but I did and I am very pleased about it! Reading about a women in her early 40’s… Read more »
