What is Poker?

Generally speaking, poker is a card game that involves the use of a standard deck of cards. The aim of the game is to have the best hand possible. The player who has the highest hand wins the pot. During the game, each player is dealt five cards and chooses five cards from which to form a hand. The highest card in the hand gives the hand its value.
